Omega Breaks Review | London Theatre Trips by coach

I love a coach trip. I don’t know if that’s a controversial statement, or makes me old at heart (I am, what can I say). They can make trips more affordable, simpler, and they’re a lot of fun! Another love of mine is the theatre, and I’ve done many London Theatre trips by coach. Recently, I travelled with Omega Breaks, for the first time, to see Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella.

What’s included in a London Theatre Trips by Coach Package

Each company packages these trips differently. However, with Omega breaks, you get your travel to London, your hotel stay, your theatre tickets, travel into London from the hotel and your breakfast.

When booking, you can find your local pick up points, and there’s so many. We got picked up from Kendal and had about 4 pick ups after us, and one before us. Our last one was Birmingham way, and they structure it so you don’t have too many pickup points.

Hotels are usually near Heathrow airport, and they promise a 3* or 4* hotel, where you get your breakfast the next morning.

Your theatre tickets are included, and you can upgrade them so you can get the seats you want. We didn’t do this and had side view tickets, but they were still great!

Omega Breaks London Theatre Trip Itinery

We had a bright and early start (or dark and rainy, with it being October!), to get to our pickup at 7am. Making our way down south, having two comfort breaks and 4 more pick ups, we made it to our hotel around 2:30pm.

We stayed at the Ibis hotel, which looked really nice downstairs however the rooms were less than great. There was no bin, or soap, and the bed wasn’t the comfiest. However, in the grand scheme of things, it didn’t matter as we were hardly in the room!

We headed into London and had 2 hours to get some food. We got dropped off really close to the hotel and I found Lowlander, a Belgian bar and restaurant. It was literally across the road from the Theatre! If you’re heading to see Cinderella, get yourself booked in there because the food is brilliant, it’s got great energy, and it’s so close.

Cinderella was amazing. We chose not to upgrade the tickets, and we’re happy with the seats. Omega Breaks do have a deal where if you upgrade your ticket, you can get a river cruise pass.

Breakfast at the Ibis wasn’t great, however, the hotel was really understaffed and there was a lot of guests!

You have free time in London, til around 3pm, and we were in town by 10:30. As you’re dropped off in Central, you can basically go anywhere! People on our coach headed to Harrods, The Natural History Museum, the V&A, so many places. We headed to Covent Garden, to go to The Harry Potter On Location Exhibition, which you can read all about here. We had plenty of time to explore, get lunch, and have a really good day.

Because it was the London Marathon, it took a while to get out of town. But we were back at our drop off point by 11:30pm, and had had a dinner stop on the way back.

It’s safe to say, it was a full on 48 hours, but it was brilliant.

How much did it cost?

So, our Omega Breaks, London Theatre Trip by coach to see Cinderella was £130 – which is insane value for money. Living up north means train tickets to London alone can be more than that.

The price is mainly dependent on which show you’re going to see, and you do have the option to upgrade your tickets. Everyone on the bus is going to different shows, so it’s lovely when you get back on the bus to hear all about the other shows. Because of this, my list of shows to see has doubled!

Would I do Omega Breaks London Theatre Trips by coach again?

100% yes. Actually, we’re planning on booking a trip to see Moulin Rouge early next year! Because we live quite a way away from London, it’s the most affordable way to do theatre trips. Plus, I love going on a coach trip, and even though it’s tiring, you really do feel like you’re having an adventure!
